From Garage to Home Theater: Our Family’s Journey of Transformation & Vision

When we first bought our home—my husband’s childhood home—we never imagined that 11 years later we’d finally dive into our first major home improvement project. What started as an idea for my podcast & photography studio took a turn… then another… & finally landed somewhere even better.

✨ The Vision Shift
At first, we thought: “Let’s make this garage my studio.” But as time went on, the vision shifted. A family room felt more fitting. Then, my husband reminded me of a dream we’d always tossed around—a home theater. That’s when it clicked. The garage had the perfect bones to become a cozy, memory-filled space for us & our kids to enjoy with family & friends.

✨ The Gratitude Factor
We are so lucky. My bonus dad & my father-in-law are not only skilled craftsmen—they’re also retired, which means they’ve got the time & wisdom to pour into this project. Watching them swing hammers, tear down walls, & rebuild with care feels like we’re weaving generations of love into the very walls of this new space.

✨ The Progress
From my early days of simply cleaning things out, to the dads taking it down to the studs, removing a half wall, & even pulling out rafter pieces—this garage has already seen a transformation. & we’re just getting started.

✨ The Heart of It All
This isn’t just about drywall, wires, or a projector screen. This is about building a place where our kids will gather, where laughter will echo, & where our family will continue creating memories together. It’s about legacy, love, & vision coming to life one nail, one board, one step at a time.
